Our favorite singer of the decade, Adele, said she cried “pretty much all day” after the debacle that was her Grammy award performance, while being interviewed by funny lady Ellen Degeneres on The Ellen Show.
The British singer was performing her single “All I Ask” live for the 58th Grammy Awards when an audio dysfunction resulted in a debacle. Goes to show that even the most powerful voice in the industry can face problems when performing in front of an international audience! Check out the performance HERE.
In the aftermath of the mishap, Adele tweeted: “The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that’s what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. Shit happens. X”
When questioned about it during her interview with Ellen, Adele admitted: “It threw the whole thing off. Next time I have any sound issues, I am going to start over. I will tell them, ‘Sorry, it’s not working for me’. Otherwise, bye!”
Though the singer didn’t sound like her usual outstanding self, fans and other watchers were quick to respond positively and seemed to understand that there was a technical issue, rather than the star being out of her game.
She spoke about the reason why she cried “pretty much all day”, saying: “In fairness, I would have cried even if it went really well. If it was a standout performance, I would have cried as well. I always cry. I was so embarrassed…It can’t get much worse than the Grammys.”
