Lynrd: After the death of the British singer Amy Winehouse, the fans of the singer had rushed to the stress to grab a copy of the album. After the death of the 27-year-old singer on Saturday, the sales of the album had topped just in a day after her death.
Neilson SounScan said that the album of the late singer had sold more in the past few weeks. The sales figures were more than the sales in the first six months of this year which moved to 50,000 copies compared to 44,000 copies as of July 17.
In the year 2003, the singer’s debut album Frank which was at the No. 57 on the chart had sold nearly 8,000 copies. The sales figures of the album Back to Black were the highest in the weekly tally since the ending of the week on 2nd March 2008.
Winehouse was found unresponsive in her apartment in London by her bodyguard. The reason of the death of the singer is not yet known and the autopsy results, which was conducted on Monday were inconclusive. The police has said that the toxicology tests results would take a few weeks to clarify the actual reason of the singer’s death.
