Adele’s Rolling In The Deep first track in Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics.
The “Queen of Soul” is out with her latest album Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, the first track from the album was released on Monday, September 30, 2014.
As the name suggests, the album is a compilation of some of the greatest hits sung by music divas, but in the voice of Aretha Franklin. The first single in the album is a cover of British singer-songwriter Adele’s 2010 classic – Rolling In The Deep.
Other classic icons whose songs will feature in Franklin’s voice include, Barbra Steisand, Etta James, Sinéad O’Connor, Alicia Keys, Gloria Gaynor and many more.
The I Say A Little Prayer hitmaker’s 2011 album Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love didn’t garner much commercial success in the music industry.
This time, the 72-year-old is collaborating with long time friend and associate Clive Davis, the last time the duo worked together was in 1998 on one of Franklin’s most successful albums – A Rose is Still a Rose.
In an interview with Billboard in June 2014, Aretha said, “You won’t be disappointed,” she told Billboard in June, we’re going to give you exactly what you’re expecting and what you’re not expecting.”
The album is all set to release on October 21, 2014. The artist’s name was included into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
Some of the tracks in Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics include –
Alicia Keys – No One
