American YouTube star-turned-pop singer Austin Mahone had to postpone his highly-anticipated appearance at the MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014 due to illness. It has been reported that the ‘What About Love’ singer is very ill and had to check into hospital for treatment on Thursday, October 17, 2013. The 17-year-old star reportedly had a a 103-degree fever and was seeking treatment at the hospital.
The ‘Say Somethin’ singer’s mother Michele took to his Twitter account to address her son’s fans personally and update them on Austin’s condition. She wrote, “Hey Mahomies its @michelemahone Austin is very ill. Unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the entire MTV Artist to Watch Tour. Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out.”
She went on to write that they feel very bad for postponing the tour, however, there was no other choice and asked the young star’s fans to pray for him. The ‘Say You’re Just a Friend’ singer took to Instagram to reveal that he had never felt so bad and had to cancel shows in Miami and Orlando. In addition to that, Mahone was supposed to perform in 10 other cities starting from Thursday, October 17, 2013.
MTV also confirmed in a statement that the shows have been cancelled and that ticket holders will be notified of new dates in 2014.
