With her newest album Partners topping the charts, Barbra Streisand rewrites music history.
Singer Barbra Streisand has charted new history in the world of music with her latest album release – Partners. The album has made it to the top of the charts, which makes Streisand one of the rare artists to have No.1 albums issued consecutively during each of the last six decades.
The new album hit stores last week and comprises of a bevy of duets and features artists like Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble and John Mayer.
In a statement to the press, the 76-year old singer sincerely thanked all her fans for their support.
Barbra is also the only female artist in the US to have under her belt ten No.1 albums. “Happy Days Are Here Again” hitmaker now stands at No. 4 on US’s list of all-time chart-topping acts. Sitting on top of the list are the The Beatles.
Barbra Streisand shares the fourth place on the list with rock and roll legend Elvis Presley.
Beyonce’s husband and rapper Jay Z occupies the second spot in the hall of fame with 13 No.1 album hits, Fire artist Bruce Springsteen has 11 to his name.
Streisand’s very first album People came out in 1964 and became an instant chart topper, this was followed by her other successes The Way We Were, A Star Is Born and The Broadway Album and Love is the Answer.
