Popular American musician, singer and songwriter Beck is busy preparing for the release of his new album and in addition to that, the ‘Lost Cause’ singer has recorded ‘Love’ – a John Lennon cover – for the upcoming compilation album of different artists performing their favorite songs.

Beck covers Love by John Lennon on Sweetheart 2014 album

‘Love’ was recorded by Lennon for his ‘John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band’ album, which was released in 1970 and the only two musicians on the recording were Lennon himself on vocals and acoustic guitar and producer Phil Spector, who played the piano. The song was first covered in 1971 by The Letterman, the 60s pop group and the second artist to cover it was Barbra Streisand – also in 1971 – for her ‘Barbra Joan Streisand’ album.

The ‘Where It’s At’ singer is scheduled to release his upcoming record in February 2014 and the album was partly recorded at the Third Man Records studio – which is owned by Jack White – in Nashville.
