American rock singer from band Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, said that it was alcohol and prescription drug abuse which forced him to go to rehab last year. The singer used to have sessions when he would blackout and have no memory of what he had done.
The 41-year-old frontman said, “I couldn’t predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night”. The ‘Oh Love’ singer said in an interview said that he used to wake up in a strange house, on a couch which he did not recognize and that he would not remember how he got there. These tihngs usually happened after a night out with alcohol and prescription drugs.
‘The Forgotten’ singer opened up about his experiences many years of addiction in a recent interview. Last year Green Day had cancelled their fall tour and postponed other dates after the singer entered treatment, for what was described at the time only as a substance abuse. Armstrong, while referring to the Las Vegas incident, said that he remembered tiny things.
The next day he would wake up and as his wife Adrienne would tell him how bad the previous night was. The band, in the month of December 2012, said that it would return to the road in March 2013 and Armstrong thanked his fans for their support.
