American rock band, Blink-182 has recently cancelled their appearance at New Jersey’s Bamboozle Festival. The band has also cancelled the rest of their May concerts as the drummer Travis Barker underwent an emergency tonsillectomy.
The cancellation of the appearance was announced by the band on their website. A statement was released by the band which said, “Blink-182’s drummer, Travis Barker, required an urgent tonsillectomy with a recovery period expected to extend beyond the scheduled tour dates. The band apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of these cancellations and thanks their fans for their ongoing support.”
Two of the shows of the band, in Oklahoma have been rescheduled for the month of September. But six other dates have been cancelled for good.
But in some good news for the UK fans, the European tour that begins on June 7 is still on as planned. While Bamboozle, has recovered from the news with an announcement on the social networking site. It said that My Chemical Romance will be replacing Blink-182 on the bill. While the other bands in the line up include Foo Fighters, Skrillex and Mac Miller. Barker is in touch with his fans on Twitter and even posted a graphic picture of his tonsils after they were removed.
