American singer, songwriter and one of the most influential figures in popular music, Bob Dylan, has announced that he will go on a European tour later this year. The superstar is scheduled to begin his 33-date tour in Oslo on October 10, 2013 and end it at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 28, 2013. The news was released on his official website on Friday, June 14, 2013.
The ‘Times They Are A-Changin’ singer is about to embark on the US leg of his ‘AmericanaramA’ tour on June 26, 2013 in West Palm Beach, Florida and will finish it on August 4, 2013 in Mountain View, California. The tickets for ‘Bob Dylan in Europe’ are on sale since Friday, June 14, 2013.
The 10-country European tour follows the September 10, 2012 release of Dylan’s thirty-fifth studio album, ‘The Tempest’, which was described by Rolling Stone magazine as ‘one of his weirdest albums ever’.
The ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ singer was made the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ honorary member in May 2013 and was also awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest US civilian honor, in 2012. Along with these honors, earlier in June 2013 the music icon has been put forward for the Legion d’Honneur, highest award in France, given by the French council.
The grand chancellor, Jean-Louis Georgelin, explained the nomination by saying that Dylan is an amazing singer and poet, known all around the world.
