What a time to be alive! After you’re done inaugurating “President Trump” and probably burying him after that – don your band shirts and your leather, soak yourself in some cheap craft beer and head out to the Chicago Open Air Festival 2017. When you see the lineup, you’ll understand why.
Some of rock and metal’s biggest acts are taking this stage at this year’s festival, one of the biggest annual musical mosh fests in the United States. Last year, they had the likes of Disturbed, Slipknot and German hell raisers, Rammstein headline the event. This year, they’ve outdone themselves – KISS, KoRn and Ozzy Ozbourne will make a show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Friday – July 14 2017
Dillinger Escape Plan
Falling In Reverse
Hell Or Highwater
Saturday – July 15 2017
Sunday – July 16 2017
Lamb Of God
If they just had Metallica to tag along, we would call it a party and have the BIG FOUR raise hell, huh? This is one massive lineup. Bands from Europe even are getting down here to make some noise. And the venue will also be serving some ‘gourmet man food’, so you know you’ve got to plan a hell of weekend, starting now!
Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor is really psyched about performing at the festival, this time with his other band, and not behind a mask. He said, “We are stoked to be a part of Chicago Open Air this year. If you’ve never seen Stone Sour before, you’re in for a goddamn treat. If you HAVE seen Stone Sour before, forget what you’re expecting. It’s a whole new ballgame. See you all soon!”
