Carson Daly, the co-host of the Today show asked the 70-year-old musician if she was rejoining the band, to which she replied, “I think that can be said with a definite capital ‘Yes’.” When Daly asked her what was the reason for leaving the band back in 1998, the British musician explained that she had a fear of flying and that she had not flown for 15 years.

McVie was in the presence of original bandmates Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and her ex-husband John McVie when the special announcement was made. The musician and John McVie were married for 8 years, before splitting in 1976. John looked happy and healthy during the band’s appearance, despite the fact he was diagnosed with cancer, as it has been revealed in October 2013.

Liz Rosenberg, the band’s publicist confirmed MCVie’s return to Fleetwood Mac in January 2014. At the time, she said that they are hoping to announce a possible tour some time in 2014. McVie has written the group’s hits such as ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Hold Me’ – among others – and performed with the band in September 2013 at their two shows in London’s O2 Arena.
