American pop singer and songwriter Colbie Caillat is starting off 2014 with a brand new video. The ‘I Never Told You’ singer released ‘Hold On’ – the first single from her upcoming album – back in November 2013, but the video had its premiere on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. The producer and co-writer of ‘Hold On’, Ryan Tedder has stated that the new tune is a ‘game changer’ and that it might be one of the biggest records he has done in years.
In the video for ‘Hold On’, the ‘Bubbly’ singer is surrounded by a group of girls who are dancing in front of a huge moonlit sky. The entire video has a specific and otherworldly feel to it, while the ‘Fallin’ For You’ singer is emulating some kind of goddess while an interstellar backdrop is spinning behind her.
‘Hold On’ is the second high-profile pairing of Caillat and Tedder, the frontman of OneRepublic, following the success of ‘Brighter Than The Sun’, which was released in 2011. The new tune finds the pop singer stepping into a rhythmic-pop territory, with plenty of chorus. Since its release on November 19, 2013, ‘Hold On’ peaked at No. 15 on the Adult Pop Songs chart.
The single is announcing Caillat’s upcoming fourth record, which does not have an exact release date yet.
