Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl was joined by Taylor Hawkins and Perry Farrell to cover Stones and Dylan classics.
Straight after appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins headed downtown to join Perry Farell, Jane’s Addiction frontman, onstage to cover Rolling Stones’ Miss You and Bob Dylan’s From a Buick 6 at New York’s McKittrick Hotel on October 13, 2014. The event was held to celebrate the release of renowned rock photographer Danny Clinch’s new book Still Moving.
Grohl, Hawkins and Farrell teamed up with Clinch’s Tangiers Blues Band to deliver a smashing impromptu performance. The event, which also had Micheal Stipe, Zac Brown and Courtney Love in attendance, highlighted Clinch’s career, with a makeshift gallery in an adjoining room that displayed the photographer’s portraits of Bob Dylan, Green Day, Willie Nelson and Tupac Shakur, among many others.
Still Moving features a cover shot of Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder while he was recording his 2011 solo album Ukelele Songs, which was released earlier in 2014.
At present, the Foo Fighters have been performing on the Late Show With David Letterman as the ‘house band’. Their eighth record album, Sonic Highways, will release on November 10, 2014 and will feature many artists, including Eagles‘ Joe Walsh, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen.
