Destiny’s Child reunion for new album on the cards

Beyonce’s father and band manager, Mathew Knowles hints at a Destiny’s Child reunion in the near future.

A Destiny’s Child reunion for a new album and tour may be on the cards, as hinted by Beyonce Knowles’ father and band manager, Mathew Knowles. He suggested that the girls ‘might’ get back together again, considering they had already done so this year and the last.

The Bootylicious trio, comprising Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams had got together in May 2014 for their upbeat gospel single ‘Say Yes’. The three had reunited last year as well for Kelly’s solo song ‘You’ve Changed’.

It was in 2002 the group announced a hiatus and re-united two years later for the release of their fourth and final studio album, ‘Destiny Fulfilled’, in 2004. However, after its release on November 15, 2004, the album failed to top ‘Survivor’. The album reached number two the following week, selling 497,000 copies in its first week, compared to 663,000 for the previous album.

The sizzling hit makers have so far sold more than 60 million records worldwide as Destiny’s Child.

So far, Beyonce has proven herself to be a powerful icon, especially for women. Recently, at the MTV Video Music Awards that took place on August 24, 2014, Beyonce brought the house down with her 15-minute medley performance and took the Video Vanguard Award home.

The ‘Crazy In Love’ pop superstar displayed her own brand of feminism during her performance, where she stood dramatically on stage with an enormous backlit background spelling out the word ‘feminist’.
