The Thinking Out Loud singer is now singing out loud!
Fans of Ed Sheeran are rejoicing this new year. After more than year’s hiatus, the English singer dropped two new tracks before midnight on January 5. The first track, Castle On The Hill is about his childhood memories. The chorus goes as:
I was younger then
Take me back to when
Found my heart
And broke it here
Made friends and lost them
Through the years
The track was co-written by Sheeran and Benny Blanco.
The second track to be released is called Shape Of You. The lyrics to the chorus of that one goes as –
I’m in love with the shape of you
We push and pull like a magnet do
Although my heart is falling too
I’m in love with your body
Sounds so risqué, coming from him! This track was co-written by Sheeran, Johnny McDaid and Steve Mac.
To announce the release of these two new singles, the singer tweeted the links to each of the YouTube lyric videos with the caption: “Cause I’ve been away for a bit here’s two singles rather than one.”
Ed Sheeran’s last release was back in 2014 with his second hit album, X. His debut album was called +.
After a long tour that spanned more than one and a half years, Taylor Swift’s BFF wrote to fans back in 2015 saying: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while. I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed.”
“I’ve been working hard on the new material and I hope you can be as excited as I am. I really wanted to show two different sides to my music that I’m equally as passionate about and I just knew I wanted to roll with two songs at the same time.”
