With the news being flooded with topics covering politics, the upcoming US Presidential elections, #BlackLivesMatter and so many disturbing scenarios, there is no better time for someone who has always blatantly voiced his *explicit* opinion on social matters than Rap God, Eminem. After years of silence, Shady’s back! And he also seems to be taking sides (and taking shots) in this Clinton-Trump political shading that’s going on – he just dropped a brand new Trump diss track called Campaign Speech. He doesn’t hold back on the billionaire Republican candidate, calling him a “loose canon”, a reference made by Trump critics who say he is capable of releasing nuclear warfare should become the next President.
The video, now uploaded on YouTube, is 7:47 minutes long and has the most basic music background, with Eminem’s talent shining through. He is really bringing it. Here are some of the lyrics to the track Campaign Speech:
…And dressin’ George Zimmerman in a fluorescent orange
Dress and four inch heels to address the court
With a bullseye on his back, his whole chest and torso
Are left on the doorsteps of Trayvon’s dad as a present for him…
Here he refers to the who debacle that started the political hashtag #BlackLivesMatter, when a white cop by the name of George Zimmerman, shot an unarmed young man called Trayvon Martin and caused the whole nation to protest.
…Consider me a dangerous man
But you should be afraid of this dang candidate
You say Trump don’t kiss ass like a puppet
‘Cuz he runs his campaign with his own cash for the fundin’
And that’s what you wanted
A fuckin’ loose cannon whose blunt with his hand on the
button, who doesn’t have to answer to no one – great idea!
Eminem doesn’t talk at all about Hillary Clinton, but fires his own shots at Donald Trump, accusing him of being trigger happy.
The complete lyrics are seriously politically charged, and it seems that the legendary rapper had a lot to think about while was out of the limelight, recovering.
He made an announcement through his official Twitter account, saying he will be releasing an album called Roots come 2017. Rumors are rife that royalty from the industry including Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z and of course, Dr. Dre will be contributing to the album. Can’t wait!
Also, the Real Slim Shady’s birthday is round the corner, so let’s wish him further success. It’s awesome to see a genuine rapper still in the game after so long.
