As per official reports, Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen is going to kick off the 62nd Annual NHL All-Star Game by performing the Canadian national anthem in front of a live audience. This will be followed by Fifth Harmony (minus Camila Cabello) belting out the Star Spangled Banner. Nick Jonas, former member of The Jonas Brothers will perform his set on during the game’s intermission.
NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice-President, Steve Mayer said of the all-star lineup: “We are pleased with the incredible lineup of entertainment that we put together for the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend. The All-Star Weekend will feature three days of can’t-miss events, including the NHL 100 Celebration on Friday night, in a weekend where hockey takes over Hollywood. We are excited for Nick Jonas, Fifth Harmony and Carly Rae Jepsen’s All-Star Game performances for our fans in LA and those watching around the world.”
Fifth Harmony have been doing great since the departure of their fifth member, Camila Cabello. She had revealed earlier the reason for her exist, citing that she was uncomfortable with the way she was sexualized in the band. The first time that Fifth Harmony performed in 2017 following the split with Camila was the People’s Choice Awards 2017.
The NHL All-Star Weekend will also host an NHL-100 Gala that will be hosted by Mad Men star, John Hamm who will honor the 100 greatest athletes of all time. The event will also feature Blurred Lines singer, Robin Thicke. He will be there to honor his late father, Alan Thicke who passed away last year. All Of Me singer John Legend will also be making an appearance at the event.
Honda NHL All-Star Weekend will be taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
