American rock band Foo Fighters has announced their UK tour in 2015.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl announced on Radio 1 that they would be touring the UK in 2015 across five dates. Starting from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on May 25, 2015, they will perform at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester two days later, followed by a show at Wembley Stadium on May 19 and June 20. They would wrap up their tour on June 23 at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.
The rock band will be supported at Wembley by Iggy Pop and British rock duo Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher of Royal Blood, who will also be playing at Edinburgh.
The Foo Fighters UK tour would be ending just days before the Glastonbury festival. The band currently has no other performances in line before July 4. As of now, they have had no intimation from the festival organizers to be a part of the event.
Although the band had been rumored to headline Glastonbury next year, as per festival rules, major headliners at the event are not allowed to perform at proximal locations to the festival around the same time of year.
Glastonbury 2015 will be take place at Worthy Farm from June 24-28, 2014, the tickets for which already sold out the month before.
