Singer George Michael suddenly cancelled his current Symphonica tour on November 24, 2011. The representative of the singer informed that the singer is suffering from severe pneumonia.
Michael was shifted to the hospital just hours before the singer was about to hit the stage in front of thousands of fans in Vienna. The singer complained of severe chest pain before he was rushed to the hospital.
According to a statement issued by the publicist of the singer, he was suffering from a severe form of pneumonia and even clarified that the other speculations about his illness were untrue and unfounded. The statement further added that the doctors have not yet said how long the singer would take to recover.
Moreover, the remaining 14 dates of the singer for the tour have also been postponed that include three concerts at Earl’s Court just before Christmas. The doctors at the Medical University of Vienna said that Michael has severe community acquired pneumonia and is being treated as an inpatient. The doctors added that his condition is stable and is responding well to the treatment. According to initial reports, the singer had throat infection and the doctors have now advised him not to perform on the rest of his Symphonica Tour.
