The growing Indian metal scene will be getting injected with a fresh dose of momentum when French progressive-metal band Gojira headlines the Indian Metal Festival on December 15, 2012, in Bangalore. Of late, many international metal acts such as Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Lamb of God have toured the country and in the process found a new global market to showcase their music to.
The Indian Metal Festival is being organized by Sweet Leaves in association with Orka Networks and will feature a groundbreaking lineup of international and Indian metal acts. There are 5 major international names apart from Gojira to be featured at the day-long event; including Cerebral Bore (Scotland), Inner Guilt (Lebanon), Xerath (UK), Flayed Disciple (UK) and Bloodshot Dawn (UK).
Two of India’s rising metal bands will also be playing at the event, with Gutslit from Mumbai and Agnostic from Guwahati looking forward to some great exposure.
Bangalore has become the country’s go-to city for event organizers, owing to lower entertainment tax rates and better infrastructure. The venue for the event has not yet been confirmed, but there is talk of Clarks Exotica being used once again, as the Lamb of God gig was also played there.
Tickets for the hugely exciting Indian Metal Festival are available for Rs 1,250 + E. Tax. If you would like to get some special treatment, along with a meet-and-greet with the bands, you will need to shell out 13,500 + E. Tax. Tickets are on sale at Indiastage here.
