Lynrd: American-based pop band Good Charlotte were supposed to perform in a concert in Indonesia,but were forced to cancel their trip. The reason? The said it was due to safety reasons and the possible threat of a terrorist attack.
Good Charlotte had cancelled the concert due to prospective threats in Indonesia. The band was supposed to perform on 22nd April 2011 in Bali, but was warned by the Australian government of the ongoing terrorist threat. The band announced the cancellation of the concert through their official website goodcharlotte.com, saying that they were looking forward for the concert but had to cancel the trip, as they preferred to safety over the concert. The Australian government had warned the band members by posting a warning message on their website smarttraveller.gov.au. The message said, ‘We advise you to reconsider your plan to travel to Indonesia as the nation has a very high threat of terrorist attack’.
However, in some good news for the Indonesian fans, the statement had said that the concert would be rescheduled later in the year. The Good Charlotte band was formed in the year 1996 on 1st April. The members named their band after the children’s book Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage, which was written by Carol Beach York and they are famous for their hits “The Anthem”, “Girls & Boys”, “The Young and the Hopeless” among several others.
