Guns N’ Roses To Headline Coachella 2016

Though one of our favorite rock bands of the 80s parted ways on a bitter note more than two decades ago, they are all set to reunite for one of the biggest annual music festivals next year – yes, Guns N’ Roses will be headlining Coachella 2016!

The last time that the band made an appearance together was in 1993, but their feud was so bitter that frontman Axl Rose refused to attend their own induction to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!

Even more better news about the headlining scene is that the original lineup is scheduled to perform – that is Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan although Steven Adler has not yet been named, though it appears that Matt Sorum will take his place behind the kit.

Fans around the world are responding positively to this initial wave of news, as GnR was one of the main bands to create a sort of golden age in the music industry during their prime. They changed the face of rock n roll with hits such as November Rain, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Don’t Cry, Welcome To The Jungle, Knocking On Heaven’s Door and so many more!

Probably one of the main reasons the band decided to give it another shot is the report that they will be paid somewhere between $3 million – $8 million per show! There are also rumors doing the rounds that they plan to go on a full blown tour after the Coachella performance that would be 25 shows at least. Rhythm guitarist Slash has been making solo appearances in international shows, while frontman Axl Rose has been on silent mode after his tiff with a number of metal greats, like Metallica’s James Hetfield.

Though there hasn’t yet been an official announcement made by the band itself, one is expected shortly after the holidays. As for the complete lineup for Coachella 2016, the list will be announced somewhere in January next year.
