American alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction cancelled their two concerts this week. The concerts were cancelled as the drummer Stephen Perkins had to support a family member, who was suffering from severe illness.
The band was supposed to perform at a concert in Las Vegas on December 7, 2011, but cancelled the show at the last minute. While talking about the reason to cancel the show, the promoters of the concert said that due to unforeseen circumstances Jane’s Addiction had to cancel their event at the Holiday Havoc because of severe illness of a family member.
Moreover, another show in Oakland, California was also cancelled that was due on Friday night on December 9, 2011. Dave Navarro, the guitarist of the band on Twitter said , “Our prayers are with Stephen and his family.”
The band was formed in California in the year 1985. The band split in the year 1991 and then briefly reunited in the year 1997 and split again in 2001. The band was then back on track in the year 2008 and till date have released 4 studio albums. The band became one of the first bands to emerge from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain mainstream media attention.
