She reportedly went through a troubled marriage, and is still awaiting her divorce and seeking full custody of her 8-month-old son, Eissa. September 12, 2017, Tuesday, Janet Jackson’s brother, Randy Jackson alleged that his sister and popular singer has gone through verbal abuse in her marriage to businessman, Wissam Al Mana. Janet is now estranged from Wissam, to whom she got married in the year 2012 and this year Eissa was born to them, soon after which, the couple parted ways.
Randy’s allegations came after her sister’s separation with Wissam, in an interview with People where he was quoted saying, “It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a b***h every day. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.” If reports are to be believed, Randy has always been beside Janet as the difficult times of divorce have beseeches her. Before Janet separated from her husband, Randy felt the need to warn her: ”You’ve got to move in with me or I’m going to go over there and there’s going to be hell. I don’t care anymore. I’m tired of it. It’s too much,” said the 61-year-old American Bassist, Entrepreneur and Grammy award winning producer to People, adding that their entire family has been through a lot of trouble and pain over the past few months.
Wissam however, has not accepted or commented on the allegations and his attorneys rather said in a statement, “Mr. Al Mana is not going to dignify these particular and deeply hurtful allegations with a response. They further claimed, “The breakdown of his marriage to Janet Jackson is a cause of great sadness to Mr. Al Mana, and it is the wellbeing and privacy of their son, Eissa, that remains his sole focus.”
However, Randy maintained to the media that the ‘Rhythm Nation’ singer is still going through much harassment and abuse from the billionaire ex-husband as she attends court hearings in London. Janet, who has otherwise, kept her private life away from media glares, shared a video on her Twitter account confirming that she has indeed separated from her husband and that they are legally fighting it out.
The pop star has been on a tour to Houston where she performed a song bordered on her own domestic abuse experiences, with lyrics like ‘What about the times you hit my face?’ where at the end of the performance she reportedly told the audience, “This is me” and reportedly broke down in tears while on stage.
