‘Jimmy Eat World’ Announces Fall Tour Dates. ‘Integrity Blues’ is Out on Oct 21.

We knew they were up to something!

The Arizona based quartet Jimmy Eat World is set to release their first studio album in 3 years and their 9th overall. The album titled ‘Integrity Blues’ is set to drop on October 21st. It’s the bands second release on the Canadian indie label “Dine Alone Records”, which makes Jimmy Eat World label mates with Alexis on Fire, Dune Rats, and a whole host of other heavies in the world of post hardcore, pop punk and other related genres.

Fans of the band have already been able to hear a couple of cuts from the highly anticipated upcoming album. The lead off single’s called ‘Get Right’, and was released by the band via a free download on their website on August 21st. A little over a week later the band debuted another single ‘Sure and Certain’ on the taste making Los Angeles rock station KROQ.

Get Right’ is propelled by a gritty guitar riff and a combination of real and programmed drums that are topped off with atmospherics, shimmering effects drenched lead guitars that sound like old school U2, and Jim Adkin’s urgent vocals and brooding lyrics.‘Sure and Certain’ is the much more upbeat of the two singles, with a sun soaked west coast vibe and punky hooks.

Here’s the track list for ‘Integrity Blues’

  1. You With Me
  2. Sure and Certain
  3. It Matters
  4. Pretty Grids
  5. Pass The Baby
  6. Get Right
  7. You Are Free
  8. The End Is Beautiful
  9. Through
  10. Integrity Blues
  11. Pol Roger

Of course Jimmy Eat World have definitely shown fans that they are capable of changing it up sonically and stylistically. Their first albums in the mid nineties helped define the genre known as ’emo’. Their 1999 album ‘Clarity’ saw them add electronics and other elements to their standard garage band instrumentation, and saw the band move into more of a dream pop sound at times. This album is still considered the band’s masterpiece by hardcore fans. In 2001 the band released “Bleed American”, and the single “The Middle” became a massive pop hit, introducing the band to a much wider audience, many of whom would never sit foot into a dingy punk rock club.

As for ‘Integrity Blues’, will this album appeal to the band’s fans that have been there since the beginning as well as to the fans that came on board after the breakthrough success of ‘Bleed American’? If the first two songs are any indication, it appears that the new album has something for both of these groups of fans. ‘Integrity Blues’ is available in record stores and for digital download on October 21st, 2016.
