American singer and songwriter John Mayer released his sixth studio album on August 20, 2013, titled ‘Paradise Valley’. The latest record by the singer is a follow-up to 2012‘s release ‘Born and Raised’ and features collaborations with R&B singer Frank Ocean and Mayer’s on-and-off girlfriend, Katy Perry.
At the moment, Mayer is on his first tour in three years, after he suffered from granuloma, which is an inflammatory condition. The granuloma needed to be removed from his vocal cords, which delayed the release of his fifth album at the time and prompted Mayer to write, “Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.”
The 35-year-old singer appeared on Monday, August 19, 2013 night’s Later Night with David Letterman show. During the show, the ‘Your Body Is A Wonderland’ singer performed ‘Wildfire’, a new song from his latest album, while he wore his trademark headscarf and a denim jacket with a peace sign on it. While talking before the release of his earlier record, the star said that every new record he starts, a new aesthetic comes in and he also added that he cannot help it.
The cover art of the new album shows the singer standing in a wild landscape, wearing a blanket, with a dog by his side which makes people think that he is getting ready to toast something on a campfire.
