The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards are just around the corner and it seems like the fans and critics are in for quite a show. According to some reports, pop superstar Justin Timberlake and his former ‘N Sync bandmates are preparing to take the stage for a joint performance at the show on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Barclays Center. If these rumors are to be believed, then ‘N Sync fans have plenty of reasons to celebrate, as this will be one of the pop band’s first performances together ever since they parted ways back in 2002.
Though nothing has been officially confirmed yet and an unnamed source is being quoted, a reformed, once hugely-popular band is not the greatest leap of imagination. On the other hand, this kind of speculation of an epic pop reunion will not do MTV VMAs ratings any harm. Even before the upcoming show, ‘N Sync already had a little gathering of sorts, as J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick were all spotted in the VIP section at Timberlake’s concert with Jay Z in Miami on August 16, 2013.
The ‘Cry Me A River’ singer is set to receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at 2013 VMAs, for his innovative impact on music videos. Regardless of whether the rumors of a reunion are true, Timberlake is set to take the spotlight at the upcoming show. The ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around’ singer is nominated for 6 awards in 2013 and is competing for the Video of the Year for ‘Mirrors’.
