American hip hop superstar Kanye West was forced to postpone three performances from his current ‘Yeezus’ tour, as a truck accident which happened on October 30, 2013 damaged the equipment used during his shows. Island Def Jam released a press statement which explained the accident in detail and stated that a ‘custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen’ being used on tour is damaged beyond repair.
Due to the accident, West’s three shows – including the one in Vancouver which was previously rescheduled – had to be postponed to a later date. The statement reads, “This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA. Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans.”
The statement also mentions that the ‘All Of The Lights’ rapper’s fans will receive additional details on the affected tour dates very soon. West – who got engaged to Kim Kardashian recently – began his highly-anticipated tour earlier in October 2013 in Seattle and the stage during his performances features an elaborate mountain and a Jesus look-alike.
Here is the list of the affected tour dates:
Oct. 31: Vancouver, B.C.– Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena
Nov. 1: Denver, CO – Pepsi Center
Nov. 5: Minneapolis, MN – Target Center
