Pop superstar Katy Perry already has both the fans and media buzzing about her upcoming, highly-anticipated album. The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer’s third album – titled ‘Prism’ – is scheduled for October 22, 2013 release, as a giant golden truck passing by the streets of Los Angeles announced on Monday, July 29, 2013. While many details surrounding the new record are still unknown, Perry’s first single from ‘Prism’ is most likely going to be ‘Roar’, according to Idolator.

Katy Perry to release Roar as the first single from her new album Prism

‘Roar’ is reportedly written by Perry, along with her constant collaborators – including Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee – who all previously worked with the pop superstar on her big hits like ‘California Gurls’, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ and ‘Teenage Dream’. Even though a rep for the ‘Firework’ singer did not confirm which song will be Perry’s first single, Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald posted on Twitter last week that the new song starts with ‘R’ and when a fan asked if it was Katy Perry’s song, he replied saying ‘maybe’.

As Perry has two fragrances named ‘Purr’ and ‘Meow’, ‘Roar’ does seem like the perfect choice when it comes to the first single from ‘Prism’. The ‘Wide Awake’ singer – who recently passed Lady Gaga as the most followed female celebrity on Twitter – managed to score five No. 1 hits with her second album, ‘Teenage Dream’, tying the same record with Michael Jackson.
