American singer Katy Perry was seen performing at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert on January 19, 2013, in Washington DC. The singer was seen wearing an American-flag inspired dress. Perry is usually seen rocking the 1950’s pin up look, which would have been appropriate for the concert, which honored military families.
Katy headlined the show and performed her hits like ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘Firework’ for a crowd full of teens. The show also features other stars from the world of music like Usher, boy-band Mindless Behaviour and Far East Movement. The ‘ET’ singer also made sure that she gave a special shout out to President Obama for his re-election.
Perry said, “I’m very proud to be here, and to see the Obamas and the Bidens here for four more years!” The concert was specially meant for family members of the military and also had other cast members from ‘Glee’ as entertainers. Apart from the teens, the audience also include first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia. This was the second such concert for the Obama children. In 2009, they were entertained by Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers; this time it was Perry and Usher who took over the evening, making it one to remember for all concerned.
