Katy Perry’s ‘Chained To The Rhythm’ Reaches #1 On UK Charts

The pop princess has made a comeback and how! Ever since she dropped her surprise single, Chained To The Rhythm with Skip Marley, Katy Perry has been climbing the charts and doesn’t look like she’ll be coming down any time soon. First, her lyric video garnered millions of views within a short span of time, and her full music video (which you can watch below) has been getting great reviews for its hidden, deeper meaning to life.

Katy Perry first performed Chained To The Rhythm live at the Grammys 2017 and then took her song to the United Kingdom for the BRIT Awards 2017. Surrounded by dancers dressed as mini houses, she moved along with the rhythm, alongside towering skeletons dressed as US President Donald J Trump and British PM Teresa May. Her political prowess and open opposition to divisive leaders has her moving from bubblegum pop to “purposeful pop”.

And as soon as she was done with her live performance, Chained To The Rhythm reached the top of the charts in the UK alone. Along with the likes of Ed Sheeran, ZAYN, her arch nemesis Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and The Chainsmokers, Perry is in it to win it.

And for fans who are waiting to celebrate the success of Chained To The Rhythm with Katy Perry, there’s a competition just for you! Perry has teamed up with Musical.ly to send a fan and their companion for the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2017 this March. To get a chance to win the competition, fans must create their own home video with the track and share it to their social media. Musical.ly has given Perry a lot of publicity, including just launching her own verified account on the site.
