Lady Gaga Gets Country Psychedelic In ‘John Wayne’ Video – Watch

Truly, truly the reigning queen of pop. As her Little Monsters would say about her, there’s no old or new Gaga, just Mother Monster taking it to all-new heights every single time. Her latest album, Joanne has seen her in a totally new avatar, so different from her club-disco ball, meat dress-wearing days. Named after her paternal aunt who passed away before she was born, Gaga seriously believes she is her reincarnation and shares this crazy energy in her new album.

Since her Dive Bar tours, she has released a couple of tracks from Joanne, including the slow ballad Million Reasons which she also performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2017. The first track from the album to be released was a video for Perfect Illusion, that has garnered nearly 79 million views on YouTube. But, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Lady Gaga just released the official video for the track John Wayne which is so darn catchy, you can’t just listen to it once and be done with it. It’s addictive, just like her “love junkie on a three day bender” – as she says in the song.

True to Gaga’s artistic capabilities, the track is a country psychedelic sensation that trails her troublesome relationships with naughty cowboys and sees her in sort of a zombie-esque fashion, much like her previous videos, but this time more raw. She dons a number of outfits in the video, including this leather cowboy-meets-metal catsuit designed by Christian Cowan-Sanluis. Then there’s hot shorts coupled with a cropped red leather jacket and bejeweled bra, as she dances to the chorus. She also dons her signature Joanne pink suit and cowboy hat, designed by Brandon Maxwell.

The John Wayne video has been directed by Jonas Akerlund, the same genius responsible for creating the videos for Paparazzi and Telephone. Lady Gaga is all-set for her Joanne World Tour 2017 that will kick off in August this year and take her across Canada, the US, South America, Europe and the UK.
