Her career started at the top of the charts with her album, The Fame and ended on a low with Artpop and her Tony Bennett-duet album, Cheek To Cheek. But Lady Gaga is all about (mostly pleasant) surprises, so at least it was gracious of her to announce to fans that she is ready to release a new album this year!
Mother Monster said: “You know, I am putting out an album this year. I won’t tell you when!”
In all probability because she doesn’t know when herself, but there are some clear indications in the form of her teaser posts through her social media accounts, especially Instagram.
In one post, the pop empress took at shot of her and former album producer, RedOne in the studio together. Also, there were hints of her strumming on a guitar, a different scenario from her piano-banging days. Other faces who seem to be helping her on her new yet-to-be-released album are Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and others.
People are predicting that even though Gaga has openly bashed pop music and its generic cornering, the fact remains that it was the source of her income, fan base and stardom. However, since the failure of Artpop and Cheek To Cheek, she may be going full gusto to get her name at the top of the Billboard charts with a fantastically creative twist to disco tunes. No one can deny the fact that she is bloody talented, and putting this in mind, it is also imperative to note that a brilliant mind like Gaga’s, combined with a successful producer like RedOne is going to create some magic.
In fact, the music producer himself has commented: “We took a little break from each other and now it feels like we are in a good place, both of us. She did her thing, I did my thing, and it feels like we’re back on track together…the new material feels great. That’s what it is like with me and her – when we both feel great, it’s incredible. A lot of it is to do with trust, no ego, just love for the music. And when it’s fun and respectful, putting the egos aside, it’s magic. With Gaga, I’m fully committed until we’re done – we’re just going to work on writing songs – 20, 30, 40 songs – until we get hopefully the best album of the decade.”
