US-based pop superstar Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will release her new, highly-anticipated album ‘ARTPOP’ and an app in November 2013. The ‘Bad Romance’ singer’s third album will debut on November 11, 2013, alongside an app which is described as an engineering system that combines music, fashion, art and technology.
The controversial star’s first single will be released on August 19, 2013 and pre-orders for the upcoming record will start on September 1, 2013. Lady Gaga first revealed her plans for ‘ARTPOP’ at the end of 2012, though the project was supposed to roll-out in early 2013.
According to the message left on the ‘Paparazzi’ singer’s Facebook page, the album ‘musically mirrors Gaga’s creative process as she passes through the medium of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint on her journey.’ On November 10, 2013, one day before the new album’s release, Lady Gaga will host an evening of ‘artRave’ with a host of collaborators, including the artist Jeff Koons.
The second half of 2013 is looking to be a more positive one for the superstar, as she was dealing with an injured hip and subsequent surgery earlier this year. Due to a severe injury, Lady Gaga was forced to prematurely cancel her ‘Born This Way Ball’ world tour. In total, 22 shows were canceled, which resulted in the refund of around 200,000 tickets worth approximately $25 million.
