American hip hop singer Lil Wayne is known for being embroiled in controversies. Whether it is his rap lyrics or his multiple drug charges, the singer has always been in the limelight for the wrong reasons.
One again Wayne is in trouble for his latest song which might have crossed the line. The song is called ‘Karate Chop’. The new song was leaked online last weekend and features lyrics from Wayne that makes sexual references to the infamous Emmett Till beating. The song is a remix of another track and has already been released by rapper Future.
The new version of the track has a verse by Wayne which has the controversial words in it. However, news outlets have not printed the lyrics in question. Music Label Epic Records said that it is going through great efforts to take the song off the air and is trying to release it with an edited version.
The label said in a statement, “We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s ‘Karate Chop’ was leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics”. The statement also said that Epic will go through great efforts to take down the questionable version of the song. Emmett was a black teenager from Chicago who was murdered in 1955 for whistling at a white woman.
