Lorde, the indie pop sensation from New Zealand is set to headline a tour in North America in March 2014, following four Grammy nominations and a 2-month run atop the Hot 100 chart. The ‘Royals’ singer’s 16-date run will feature two performances at Roseland Ballroom in New York, as well as venues such as the 3100-capacity Tower Theatre in Philadelphia.
The young star’s first performance in North America was just four months ago – in August 2013 – in the 700-capacity Le Poisson Rouge in New York. The ‘Tennis Court’ singer’s upcoming tour will not be featuring a performance at the South by Southwest festival, however, it does end just before the festival season begins: Coachella is scheduled to start on April 12, 2013. Scott Machlachlan, the singer’s manager stated in September 2013 that a headlining trek at the beginning of 2014 will lead straight into summer festival dates.
Lorde’s debut single ‘Royals’ has received Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year and she released the music video for ‘Team’ earlier in December 2013.
