Brian ‘Head’ Welsh has been on his own for a while now and the former Korn guitarist will be releasing his first album with new band Love and Death on January 22, 2013. The album has been titled ‘Between Here & Lost’ and came together quite quickly according to Welsh.

The album with Love and Death follows Welsh’s solo album ‘Save Me From Myself’, which was released in the year 2008 and accompanied his book ‘Save Me From Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story’. ‘Between Here & Lost’ has been produced by Jasen Rauch, who was the former guitarist of Red and the album will be released on record label Tooth & Nail Records.

Welsh’s new band also consists of guitarist J.R. Bareis, drummer Dan Johnson and bassist Michael Valentine. The album is musically what the former Korn guitarist wanted for himself, intertwining melody with low-end tuning, thereby giving songs the heavier connotations that Welsh has been known for.

Not surprisingly the songs deal with heavy subjects as well, tracks such as Chemicals talk about being under the influence of heavy drugs and depression, while Paralyzed talks about not progressing forward. Bruises was based on how some Christians misunderstand rock music and there is a Devo cover called ‘Whip It’ on the album as well.

The band will be touring the US in support of their new album starting February 21, 2013 in Columbia, Maryland.
