Lynrd.com: American singer Madonna, as promised, rocked the stage at the Super Bowl XLVI half time. The singer gave in a lot more than what the fans were expecting during her half time performance with Roman warriors, marching bands, cheerleaders and Cirque de Soleil dancers.
Madonna appeared in a Cleopatra outfit at the Lucas Oil Stadium on a throne pulled by dancers who were dressed like Roman warriors. With a gold cape and a huge headpiece and banners flying behind her, the singer took off with ‘Vogue’ with the title flashing on the high tech LED stage and a digitalized field below.
The theatrical presentation of Cirque de Soleil and the acrobatic dancing were eye catchers but the ‘Vogue’ singer was also a major attraction; she was looking and sounding well. Visually, this was probably one of the boldest live performances and one of its kind ever attempted.
The game on February 5, 2012 in Indianapolis, was expected to be the most watched TV event of the year. Last year’s Super Bowl event drew more than 162 million viewers just in the US. And yes , Madonna did fulfill the promise of the pom-poms when she hit the latest single ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’ along with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
