Young American star, singer and actress Miley Cyrus is back on the music scene with a bang. Her first single, catchy tune ‘We Can’t Stop’ is off to a good start since its release on June 3, 2013 and is about to debut on this week’s Hot 100 chart. However, little-known fact regarding Cyrus’ latest hit is that it was originally intended for her fellow pop superstar Rihanna.
The song’s producer Mike WiLL Made-It confirmed that the upbeat and fun track was first meant for the ‘Diamonds’ singer, whom he also has worked with in the past. The famous producer said that, while he was working on the song, the idea of it leaned more towards Rihanna. However, the duo collaborated on the track ‘Pour It Up’ and ‘We Can’t Stop’ went to Cyrus.
As Mike WiLL Made-It finished working on Rihanna’s highly-successful ‘Unapologetic’ album, he turned all his attention to Cyrus and her upcoming record. The producer went on to say that both himself and the record label Sony thought the song was a great fit for Cyrus’ new sound and the ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ singer liked it as well.
Miley Cyrus’ new, fourth studio album should be released by the end of 2013 and will feature collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Future and Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, among others.
