Music website MTV.com will start promoting 13 upcoming artists in 2013 as part of their Artist To Watch campaign. The music franchise had done the same in 2012, with a few names now tasting success. Some of the acts that are set to be promoted by MTV this year include Robert Delong, Austin Mahone, the Weeknd and many more.
According to MTV’s website, the music company will be featuring the new artists on various media including television, their website and social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. The music station will also be showcasing live performances, music videos, interviews and other such promotional material for the new artists.
January 16, 2013 will be the first day for the Artist To Watch campaign, with performances by Twenty One Pilots, Jessie Ware, Zedd and Robert Delong. The show will take place at the Highline Ballroom in New York. Every two weeks the music channel and website will also feature a new artist from a pool that includes Alt-J, Joey Bada$$, Trinidad Jack, Austin Mahone, Jessie Ware and others.
The individual Artist To Watch campaigns will begin on January 28, 2013, with January 8, 2013 and January 10, 2013 seeing Robert Delong and Foxes videos being premiered on MTV. The Artist To Watch campaign stands to boost the careers of upcoming artists by allowing them access to a global audience they would not have been able to reach earlier.
