American singer Nicki Minaj unveiled her new song ‘Starships’ on Ryan Seacrest’s Radio Show on February 14, 2012. The son has been produced by RedOne, but it could also have come from Flo Rida or David Guetta due to its bloopy synths and electro pop feel.

The song begins with a rap section by Minaj about drinking Bud Light at the beach. After which the chorus stars, which says “Starships were meant to fly, Hand up and touch the sky, cant Stop couse were so high, lets do this one more time, Starships were meant to fly, hands up and touch the sky, lets do this one more time, cant stop.”

Some might even find some similarities with Britney Spear’s ‘Till The World Ends’ as the notes are quite similar. However, the single does not come to the expectations to the promise of her Grammy performance, termed as controversial.

Meanwhile, the fans of the star are waiting for the upcoming album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’. More innovation and edginess is expected from the album. The new album by Minaj is all set to release on April 3, 2012.

The second studio album of the singer was announced through Twitter in November 2011.'
