American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, is now all set to kick off her Pink Friday Tour. This will be Minaj’s first headlining trek after opening for Britney Spears and Lil Wayne on their respective tours.
With a singer like Minaj, one can always expect some unique acts and showmanship. To top it all, the singer will be helped by the creative director and choreographer Laurieann Gibson, to put together the show.
Gibson has earlier choreographed for the veterans like Missy Elliot and Lady Gaga. She even released her own single and was also responsible for Minaj’s Grammy performance in the month of February.
Once again Gibson is thrilled to be working with the rapper. The choreographer said that to see a female singer dominate the pop charts and that this is historically for her is a bit of responsibility. Gibson added, “When I got back to Nicki, I was so happy to be in that soulful music again, in that fight, in the idea that rap is not dead and that somebody like her can be many things in many genres and not be limited.” Though, MInaj will be performing at smaller venues, but Gibson has assured that the fans will not be disappointed on the production front.
