Mötley Crüe bassist and Sixx A.M. star, Nikki Sixx is done with social media, maybe for good. After several thousand tweets and post updates, the hair metal veteran has decided he is done being social and wants to get back to what is real – his art. In a post on Facebook, Nikki said
GOODBYE FACEBOOK….I WANNA GET BACK TO WHATS REAL.WRITING,MUSIC,LYRICS,BOOKS,PHOTOGRAPHY ETC ETC…..IF YA WANNA FOLLOW ME I POST PHOTOS ON INSTAGRAM…OTHERWISE SEE YOU LIVE NEXT TIME I GO ON TOUR….MUCH LOVE…
He was not just another rockstar who updated random posts when out and about, with fans or just living the life. His posts were actually very outspoken, witty and in true Sixx fashion. In fact, he was once known to rip Kim Kardashian on social media when she was busy promoting makeup and there was a tornado which social media was busy trying to help out in whatever way they could, back in 2013.
Nikki Sixx even has a Tumblr page, where he had explained his passion for photography. It looks like he loves it so much and wants to keep sharing that part of himself, that he hasn’t deleted his Instagram account, at least not yet. He had said earlier: “I’m a recovering addict. The camera’s my new drug”. He was referring to his past battle with heroine and other substances that threatened his personal and professional life.
His former band, Mötley Crüe decided to call it quits and go their own separate ways, with their last performance being on New Year’s Eve at their hometown in Los Angeles. You can watch that compete video through their official documentary, The End. Nikki is still into the music, and continues to tour with his own band, Sixx A.M. They released two albums, Prayers For The Damned and Prayers For The Blessed in 2016.
