Legendary English musician, singer and songwriter Paul McCartney is back on the music scene with his latest release. The rock icon teased his fans on Twitter on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, by posting random words that go with ‘new’, including ‘lyweds’, ‘fangled’, ‘Orleans’ and more. However, it turned out that the former Beatle was not just teasing, as ‘New’ is the title of his latest single.
The rock superstar’s first single from the upcoming album is an upbeat song produced by Mark Ronson. ‘New’ is already available on SoundCloud and iTunes, while the album of the same name – featuring 12 tracks – is scheduled to be released on October 15, 2013, McCartney confirmed on August 28, 2013. The deluxe version of ‘New’ will also include two bonus tracks.
The ‘My Valentine’ singer has been working with a number of producers recently, including Ethan Johns, Giles Martin, Paul Epworth and Mark Ronson – who worked with the rock legend on the title track – while other producers still need to wait and see if their work made the cut.
The upcoming record will be the ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ singer’s first studio set of original songs since ‘Memory Almost Full’, which was released in 2007 and reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. McCartney also released ‘Kisses on the Bottom’ in 2012, which was mostly a covers collection and managed to reach No.5 on the same chart.
