Lynrd.com: Indian music fans are being treated to an overload of international music acts of late. Things have changed drastically from the 1990’s and early 2000’s, when one could only dream of having such a steady flow of foreign musicians touring the country. The latest in the string of world-class acts to touch Indian shores are Testament and Periphery and there are no surprises for guessing that both will play in Bangalore, on December 15, 2012 and December 16, 2012 respectively.
There is a twist in the tale though, as French progressive metal giants Gojira are also playing in the city the same day as Testament, leaving fans in a conundrum. Things have started to come to a saturation point in the country, as many top metal bands have visited India within the last 2 to 3 years. The list includes 3 of the ‘Big Four’, as well as bands like Meshuggah, Iron Maiden and a host of others.
As with most other gigs, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender will also see Indian bands sharing the stage with the international acts. This time it will be Inner Sanctum, Blackstratblues, Kryptos and Parikrama going on before Testament. While Periphery will be preceded by Scribe, Bangalore Metal Project, Bhayanak Maut, Demonic Resurrection and the upcoming Goddess Gagged.
Tickets can be purchased from the NH7 store and will cost Rs 999 for under-21’s, Rs 2550 for both days of the festival and Rs 1500 for a single day. More information about the artists and timeslots can also be picked up from the NH7 Website.
French metal band Gojira will also be down in Bangalore to headline the Indian Metal Festival on December 15, 2012.
