Pitbull to host 2014 American Music Awards

Latino rapper Pitbull will host the American Music Awards second year in a row in November 2014.

Armando Christian Perez, known by his stage name Pitbull, will be hosting yet another American Music Awards (AMA) ceremony on November 23, 2014. The Latin-American sensation would also be performing a song from his album Globalization, which will be released the very next day on November 24, 2014.

After hearing the news, Pitbull stated, “World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row. The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and dick clark productions for the amazing opportunity — more than anything let’s get ready to have fun. Dale!”

The 2013 AMA emceed by the Timber rapper was reportedly a ratings success, attracting a total viewership of 12.93 million, which was the best in the last four years. This year, ceremony for the world’s biggest fan-voted award show will be broadcast live from L.A.’s Nokia Theatre. 

So far, Charli XCX and Pitbull are one of the first performers to be confirmed for the show, and there are many more that would be announced in the coming few weeks. In addition, the 2014 AMAs will be preceded by “Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2014 AMAs” pre-show for the sixth consecutive year. 

As already known, leading the AMA train this year is singer and rapper Iggy Azalea with six nominations, followed by John Legend, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams, who have five nominations each, while Lorde is up for four awards.
