Prince is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, music producer and icon, best known for his on-stage persona and live performances, with a voice that can hit many ranges. His shot to fame happened in 1979 when he released the hit tracks I Wanna Be Your Lover and Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad? Prince is one of the last icons from the 1980s who is still alive and raging on as he did in the early days – sadly, many of his counterparts have fallen on the wayside along the way.
Prince was also recently in the news for the demise of one of his protégés and former muses, Bria Valente died unexpectedly. He is known for his fair share of controversies, including the interview done by fellow musician Irish woman, Sinead O Conner, when she said that he got physically violent with her when she refused to adhere to his orders with regard to language during interviews. Also, Prince is one of the well known Jehovah Witnesses, who refused hip replacement surgery because blood transfusions are not permitted by the Church that he follows.
