Probably one of the most popular, star-studded music festivals of the year, Coachella always has surprising and memorable performances every single year. The festival itself attracts people from all over the United States and the world, including US President Barack Obama’s daughter, Sasha and other celebrities who like strutting their fashionable stuff under the Californian sun.
Coachella’s 18th year is coming up in 2017, and the whispers have begun as to which mega stars are going to headline the summer fest. If rumors are to be believed, then it’s none other than Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé!
This won’t be the first time that the Thom Yorke-led band have performed at Coachella. They performed there twice – in 2004 and 2012. 2017 will see them once again on the stage, promoting their much-awaited and welcomed album, A Moon Shaped Pool. Their hit from the album, Burn The Witch already hit the charts and watching them live is magic.
Queen of everything, Beyoncé has actually never really done a solo set at Coachella, though she did make appearances in 2010 and 2014 respectively. But owing to her massive success this year with the album of the year, Lemonade that is slated to win big titles come next year’s awards season, she could very well put on a big show and attract a whole new set of fans from the festival, apart from her usual Beyhive.
Kendrick Lamar is no doubt rapper-of-the-year, although that title is being snatched from fellow rapper and foe, Drake. But the Compton-bred Lamar will be a welcome sight as a headliner at Coachella. Previously he came out as an act alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and then this year he crashed fellow Compton boy Ice Cube’s set, so festival goers will love to see him in the spotlight on his own in 2017.
Coachella takes place every year over two weekends – next year, it will be live from April 14-April16th and April 21st-23rd, 2017 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The official lineup and other announcements are set to take place at the beginning of next year, so be prepared and book your tickets on time!
