This is hardly “music”, but ok, this is apparently was goes these days – rappers dissing their exes and making sexual references to them and calling it a track. The latest misogynist rappers on the list are none other than reality star Kim Kardashian’s ex, Ray J and Rihanna’s former abuser, Chris Brown. The two teamed up on a track called Famous where they took it out on their exes, not naming names but being so obvious that even a person living under a rock would know who they’re referencing.
Ray J raps in the song:
She f*cked me for fame, look in her eyes
She was the first one to sign on the line
She was the real one to plan it all out
Look at that family, they walk around proud
All because she had my d*ck in her mouth
Wow, how poetic. This track comes after another track with the same name was released by Kim’s current husband and father of her two children, Kanye West, through his album, Life of Pablo, In his rap song, “Yeezy” also mentioned Ray J and in the corresponding video had a naked life-like wax statue of Ray J and Chris Brown and Rihanna and Kim Kardashian all in the same bed as him, because according to Kanye, he was responsible for making all of them “famous”.
The diss track was in the making, considering the interview that Ray J had given after he was asked about how he felt being a part of Kanye’s song: “You can’t fault me and Chris for responding to all the things that have been done about us over the past few months”.
Chris Brown’s contribution to the track is equally poetic, and knowing his past history and lack of respect for women, this comes as no surprise:
I know that you cry when you’re going to sleep every damn night
I’ll f*ck around and make another one famous
He could be talking about ex-Rihanna who he had infamously punched in the face and been abusive towards many times during their relationship earlier on in their careers. Or it could also reference his ex-fiancé, Karrueche Tran who he cheated on and ended up having a baby with another woman during their courtship. Ouch.
Ray J’s upcoming album is called Raydemption and doesn’t have a release date yet.
