It has been 40 years since the legendary Jimi Hendrix passed away, but till date, the singer happens to be one of the biggest artists of all time and even considered as the greatest electric guitarist in the history of Rock. The “Purple Haze” singer was one of the most talented singers and there were no boundaries to his music.
Hendrix’s fame began to grow once USA recognized his talent at the Monterey Pop Festival in the year 196, and this was then followed by the 1969 Woodstock Festival and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. Hendrix was the face of the 60’s culture thanks to the important part he played in the whole hippie movement and the winds of change that was taking place in that era.
His music has been an inspiration to countless fans from across the world, and he is greatly respected by his fellow musicians.
The singer died of an apparent overdose in Notting Hill, on this day in 1970, however the cause of his sudden death is widely deliberated.
